Book is Good, some distress, spine is intact but loose, front and back covers are cracked at spine , text is clear , pages are yellowed, one page of illustration is loose, no writing, Have not attempted to repair, not enough experience yet, I was tempted. I do believe it could be repaired easily. Front cover and spine clean and bright, back cover is spotted. There are many reproductions but few first editions. Dark mustard cloth boards, gold design of Gladiators on horseback on front cover with black designs, spine has gold plate with black lettering. Two Thousand Years Ago: The Adventures of a Roman Boy. Rev. Alfred J. Church (1829-1912) grew up in Victorian England, was ordained in 1853, and taught at several private schools in Britain before gaining a post as a professor of Latin at University College of London. He was a respected scholar and some of his earliest works were translations of Latin authors.
This Book Tells me of more history of earlier Centuries cultures than anything we can see today on Social Media.
