First published in 1875, this was the first collection of this remarkable correspondence comprising nearly 300 letters between the two and providing unique documentation not only of the trials, failures, and triumphs they shared, but of their extraordinary personal relationship. Very Good clean, shelf wear at bottom and top of spine, corners slightly bumped. Light stain to front,, light spot on back, title page and a few other pages detached but intact. Text is clean, slight waving through the body, probably due to exposure to moisture. / No DJ. Item #867
